Commissioned Notary for the State of Michigan, A Certified Notary Loan Signing Agent in Real Estate, and a Mobile, Online, and Remote Business Owner at DaytonWest Notary & Loan Signing, LLC. in Ypsilanti, Michigan for over a year established with 15 years’ experience in healthcare.
In June 2020, after resigning from the University of Michigan Hospital-Ann Arbor due to the rise in COVID, I decided to assist clients, customers, patients, borrowers, signers, and other business entities in another capacity while still providing services. The idea to become a Notary formulated while caring for my disabled mom who at the time required important documents to be notarized asap. After searching online, I discovered that the notary would travel to our home for a travel fee designated by the notary with a limited charge of $10 per page by the State of Michigan without my mother leaving her home. An appointment was set the same day. The travel fee $65, 2 notarized documents $20, and in 20 minutes the Mobile Notary earned $85 for 20 minutes. I was stunned and happy at the same time. Later, I completed the required courses for Mobile, Remote, and Online General Notary. Shortly, after taking the additional courses to officially become a Certified Notary Loan Signing Agent in Real Estate, and on October 8, 2020, DaytonWest Notary & Loan Signing, LLC. was born. DaytonWest Notary and Loan currently serves Washtenaw, Western Wayne, Monroe, Livingston, Van Buren, and selected Oakland County areas in Michigan.

In order to become a Notary Loan Signing Agent, you must be a general Notary through your State first.
For training as a Notary and/or Notary Loan Signing Agent, the National Notary Association is a good place to start. Supplies and Books are extra. A free business profile is created via signingagent.com
Join Notary Cafe Online Forum, Snapdocs Notary Loan Signing Agent's Platform, Yelp for Business, Colorful Routes web pages, LinkedIn to connect with Title Companies. A full website is not required, the real estate field does not have time to search online for Notaries, instead they will use Contracting Companies or they may have their own dedicated Notaries in Roster, however, you could market directly to Real Estate Title Companies yourself. Knowing someone who is a Broker, Escrow Officer, Closing Team or Title Company will get you direct work and full pay. They usually do not like to work with new Notary Loan Signing Agents directly which offers more pay, so Contracting Companies are used which results in splitting the commission fee.
For General Notary, a great Web Page designed by Colorful Routes can help promote.

Notary Loan Signing Agents are Independent Contractors unless a Title Company hires you directly which would be a more steady and dependable position.
